Since its formation, the band has undergone a large number of personnel changes. Multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter, Anton Newcombe, is the only member who has stayed with the Brian Jonestown Massacre since its beginning, when it was founded by Newcombe and guitarist/bassist/vocalist Matt Hollywood. Though some 40 members have passed through the band’s ranks, the current members include Frankie Emerson, Ricky Rene Maymi, Rob Campanella, Collin Hegna and Dan Allaire.
Brian Jonestown Massacre recently released its latest album ‘My Bloody Underground.’ This is the thirteenth studio album by BJM and was released on April 15, 2008 by ‘A Records,’ a label set up by the band’s leader, Anton Newcombe.
‘My Bloody Underground’ contains more experimental sounds than previous BJM albums, especially with the collaboration with Mark Gardner, formerly of Ride, who co-wrote the song ‘Monkey Powder.’ The music videos of the songs on the album have also been released, including a music video compilation DVD entitled ‘Book of Days.’
With a recently released album, Brian Jonestown Massacre is now touring throughout Europe, Australia, as well as a single appearance in the United States. Concert tickets are now on sale for dates throughout the summer. Fans won’t want to miss this!
