Current members of the band include Don Barnes on vocals and guitar, Donnie Van Zant, vocals and guitar, Danny Chauncey on guitar, Larry Junstrom on the bass, Bobby Capps on the keyboards, and Gary Moffatt on drums. Donnie Van Zandt, interestingly, comes from a successful musical family as he has 2 other brothers, Ronnie and Johnny who have been connected to the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Their first top 10 song was Hold on Loosely and was released in 1981. That song reached number 3 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. Memorable 38 Special albums that hit the number one spot on Billboard’s Rock Album Tracks chart include Caught Up in You (1982) and If I’d Been the One (1983). Currently, 38 Special is busy doing concert tours and fans might remember in 2007, the band opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams. In 2009, they opened for REO Speedwagon and Styx.
With concert tickets available all over the web, 38 Special fans might have a hard time getting the best priced tickets. Fortunately, www.ticketscompared.com has already foreseen this and have setup this very consumer friendly ticket price comparison table where you can see ticket prices of various events such as concerts, operas, talk shows and sports compared side by side.
